Arquitectura en Movimiento Mexico Studio Workshop designed an apartment in Mumbai - sculpture featuring wooden stairs.
U-shaped staircase acts as a statement to the apartment features. Located in the middle of the room, staircase acts as a unifying component. Design three sides, which is located in front of the double-height windows, consisting of open ground, allowing light to filter in. The first three steps are the stand-alone structure, sitting independently of each other, while the rest of the curve tread upon, each becoming narrower and taller than the previous one, to create a continuous element.
A metal structure anchored to the wall surrounding the stairs on both sides, while the vertical steel cable serves as both a support system and hand rails.
